Suzanne Klatt is Director of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Programs and Strategy at IBM. Suzanne is an experienced leader in ESG and sustainability management with over 15 years’ experience developing corporate strategies and securing executive commitment to new ventures.At IBM, she creates and leads IBM’s ESG strategy and programs. The mandate includes: ESG strategy, frameworks and roadmap, refining disclosures, data collection and reporting, lastly client engagement and thought leadership. During her time at NASDAQ, she served as an integral part of shaping the sustainability approach and response to climate change as well as the subject matter expert in ESG reporting for the firm. Suzanne participated in the cross-functional sustainability committee and working groups. Her previous position was Vice President of Environment and Sustainability at Prudential Financial, Inc. There her focus was integrating long-term value creation into the company’s sustainability/ESG strategy. She led corporate ESG reporting (alignment with SASB, TCFD, GRI, and CDP) and strategic policy and advocacy initiatives (the Global Environmental Commitment and the triennial Sustainability Materiality Assessment). In addition, she presented at least annually to the company’s Board of Directors. Prior to Prudential, work experience includes cultivating relationships with innovative Canadian companies seeking to expand their presence in the U.S. at the Canadian Consulate in NYC, orchestrating investor relations and corporate communications strategy for a NASDAQ-listed biotech start-up and managing the relationship with the Economic Development Agency for Lyon, France for inward investment. Suzanne completed her master’s in Sustainability Management from Columbia University in May 2020. She has a master’s degree in French Studies from NYU in French Studies from New York University and a bachelor’s degree with honors from the University of Massachusetts.
